Casio Pathfinder Titanium

When Casio decided to aim it’s new Pathfinder men’s titanium watch at the adventurer crowd it knew the watch would have to be rugged.  But when you cram a digital compass, an altimeter, a barometer and a thermometer into a sports watch you had better build it tough.  I’m guessing that the guys who are sitting around watching TV aren’t the target audience for the Casio Men’s Pathfinder Titanium (PAG80T-7V).

Casio got started in the watch business in the mid seventies and has been a very active player in the market ever since.  Sure they make some very inexpensive watches but they also make many watches that are great values too.  The Casio Pathfinder Titanium is one of those watches with great value.  Just look at the choice of metal, Titanium.  It’s 50% lighter than steel and 30% stronger.  And don’t forget Casio invented the G-Shock technology so they know how to make a tough watch.

This watch is solar powered, so there’s no winding and no replacing the battery.  The Pathfinder is also radio-controlled so you never have to set it either.  If you’re not familiar with radio-controlled watches, they work like this.  You’ve probably heard of atomic clocks.  These things are built to be the most accurate clocks in the world.  Now they also transmit radio signals out to all watches or clocks that are capable of receiving the signal.  The Pathfinder is one of those watches.

Now lets look at some of the bells and whistles of this watch.  There’s a built in compass so that when you’re out there doing your weekend warrior stuff, you don’t have to worry about getting lost.  It’s also got a barometer, a thermometer and an altimeter.  So whether you’re out camping, hiking up a mountain or going scuba diving, you’ve got some useful information right there on your wrist.

There are lots of tough looking watches with large cases out there on the market today.  But the Casio Pathfinder Titanium not only looks tough but it can back up it’s looks with a great feature set and durability.  You can usually find this watch (Model # PAG80T-7V) for well under $200 and at that price it’s a great value.
